- The principles of fire safety
- Non fire-related workplace emergencies
- Principles of effective communication and customer care
UNIT 2: Working as a Door Supervisor
- The role of the door supervisor
- Civil and Criminal Law
- Search procedures
- Powers of arrest
- Crime scene preservation
- Emergency procedures
UNIT 3: Conflict Management
- Communication skills and knowledge of conflict management
- Recognising, assessing and reducing risk in conflict situations
- Communicating effectively in emotive situations to de-escalate conflict
- Using problem-solving strategies to resolve conflict
UNIT 4: Physical Intervention Skills
- Understand physical intervention and implications of its use
- Use of non-aggressive physical skills
- Standing, holding and escorting techniques
- Understand good practice following physical interventions
